Happy 2019 and welcome back everyone, between interesting projects and good proposals

Good morning, happy new year and welcome back everyone!

As usual, we reopen the doors of MICROingranaggi with a quick assessment of the highlights of last year and of our plans for 2019.

For us, 2018 saw a slight decline in total turnover but with an increase in profit.

An excellent result that makes us particularly proud and that we owe, in large part, to the intense work of optimising the resources that we have been developing for some years now and which has allowed us to understand exactly where the wastage was, as well as assisting us in identifying on which codes the costs were not updated, thus becoming inadequate to the product being sold.

Some new features concern, once again, the sphere of investments in the technological field (which in 2016 reached almost 12% of our turnover).

Thanks to the funding that we obtained from the Al Via call and to the benefits deriving from the Hyper-amortisation, we added to our 2018 investment plan a new lathe, the Biglia 438, a twinturret and twin-spindle CNC-lathe with fixed headstock, compact and quick for the combined machining of turning, milling and drilling of small-sized parts and with two 7-meter-high automated warehouses built by the Emilia-based company Modula, which we will install and operate this year.

The first warehouse – particularly robust and equipped with 4.5-meter long containers and with a capacity of 750 kg/each – will mainly be used for the storage of raw material bars. The other – with the same capacity but with 3.5-meter long containers – will be used for everything else.
Once we have made the transition from the old warehouse to the new ones (a procedure that will take place at the end of May), we will evaluate if it is necessary to buy a third one, perhaps smaller, or if the two just installed will be sufficient.

Emptying the old warehouse, dismantling it, assembling the new one and filling it reorganising the goods (with all that this entails) will be activities measurable in weeks, as well as probably requiring a considerable expenditure of energy: we will organise in order to have ready a sort of “Virtual warehouse” that we will use as a road map for the effective movement of goods, actually reaching this point without the risk of stopping or slowing down production.

And now we come to the goals we have set ourselves for this new year.
On a general level I am led to think that it does not make much sense to outline expansion strategies if we are not actually ready (from a practical point of view above all) to address them. That said, therefore,

our main objective for this year is for us to definitively move away from the idea of being an artisan company (an identity we have been associated with for a long time) and to transform MICROingranaggi into a company that is more structured and, above all, able to work with anyone anywhere in the world.

For now, I’ll say goodbye, and wish you all every success in your work!
