Technological partnership: the MICROingranaggi / F&C Solutions collaboration

As everybody knows, today digital technologies offer – among other things – the possibility of acquiring products from suppliers located all over the world, including the Far East, where we often look for economic convenience, leaving out everything else.
This is why the role of a distributor operating on the national territory works when it is able to make available to the customer what digital technologies cannot offer.

Today – in other words – the role of distribution only makes sense when the distributor becomes a technical / commercial partner, able to understand the real needs of the customer and then provide him with the ideal solution (be it standard or customized).

I start from this premise, because I would like to dedicate today’s post to an interesting and consolidated collaboration that MICROingranaggi has had for several years with a young and interesting company specialized in the supply of micromotors, and founded in 2014 by two people – Fabio Notarnicola and Claudio Ferè – with over thirty years of experience in the field of these specific products.

F&C Solutions – this is its name – deals with the marketing of automation products, and, in particular, of micromotors and miniaturised servo systems.
At a certain point in their career in the automation sector, the two founding partners decided to set up a company that was able to offer customers mechatronic solutions, often implemented with the help of several suppliers.

I’ll explain. Knowing that about 70% of micromotor users also needed precision mechanical components – therefore pinions, reducers, worm screws, and so on (all details, which current market leaders often do not supply for cost, timing or quantities reasons) – the partners of F&C Solutions have decided to respond to this type of need by combining the technological know-how of two leading companies in the manufacture of coreless micromotors (produced in China and Japan) with the precision mechanics know-how by MICROingranaggi.

And this is how our collaboration with F&C Solutions began. Collaboration that today allows us to offer high quality solutions and, above all, flexible enough to be modified or integrated on the basis of specific application needs.

But – as we said –

F&C Solutions is not a reality that deals with simple acquisition and resale, but a consultancy company, able to offer the customer technical expertise, identifying – in the wide spectrum of electric motors produced by the companies represented – what is the most suitable product for each specific application (in many cases also allowing the customer to save money).

If necessary, it also deals with the design and development of the customizations requested by the customer. And they do it with shrewdness: everything related to the electrical field (ie wiring, control systems, and so on) is developed internally by F&C Solutions, just because this is their specialisation. Instead, everything related to the mechanical field is designed and developed by MICROingranaggi.

I also give you a couple of practical examples that seem to me quite significant.
Some time ago a customer specialised in the production of handpieces for the skin treatment addressed to F&C Solutions for the purchase of a gearmotor that had extremely compact dimensions, high silence and a high tolerance torque. And, of course, at low costs. F&C Solutions thus identified the most suitable motor for that type of application and involved MICROingranaggi for the development of the planetary gearbox.

Another customer operating in the avionics sector asked F&C for the supply of an actuator (motor + reducer + worm screw) whose application had rather particular characteristics. In fact, this product would have been subjected to very significant shocks and vibrations. And so, also in that case, F&C turned to us, who took care of designing and developing the complete solution (effectively leaving F&C the only task of identifying the most suitable engine).

Finally, I would like to underline that MICROingranaggi is for F&C Solutions a customer and a supplier at the same time, in the sense that we are supported by F&C Solutions when we deal with solutions concerning electric motors, an area that – for obvious reasons – we know only marginally from a technical point of view.
