Who we are

MICROjournal began in 2013 as the blog of Stefano Garavaglia and MICROingranaggi, but today it is much more than that. It is an editorial project that has chosen to evolve, reinvent itself, and dedicate itself to technical knowledge—in a sector where communication too often remains anchored to outdated language and self-referentiality.

Our Mission

We aim to help spread a new kind of technical culture—one that is more practical, honest, and useful.

We believe that true knowledge stems not only from theory but from hands-on experience in the workshop: from a machining error, a design insight, or continuous improvement on the shop floor.

That is why MICROjournal is built by the people who work daily with materials, tolerances, blueprints, data, measurements, and real-world challenges.

Our mission is to provide high-quality technical content while fostering reflection, dialogue, and the exchange of ideas among diverse industry professionals—including operators, engineers, quality managers, project managers, technicians, and business owners. We aim to be an open, receptive platform dedicated to shared knowledge.

Our Guiding Vision

MICROjournal looks to the future. We aim to build a modern, credible, and dynamic ecosystem capable of supporting those working in mechanics and industrial systems—at a pivotal moment when innovation, sustainability, and digitalization are rewriting the rules of the game.

We envision a future where technical knowledge truly circulates—where reading an industry article means more than just scrolling through promotions or product specs; it means learning, challenging one’s own perspectives, and evolving as a professional.

Our values

Hands-on expertise

We do not speak from a lectern. We write with hands that touch the machines, open the blueprints, and read the data. We believe in the power of experiential knowledge.

A collective voice

MICROjournal does not have a single author, but many contributors. Technicians, designers, and quality and communications managers—all with a perspective to share, all with something to say.

Depth before speed

We are against “hit-and-run” content. We want to offer content that leaves a mark—providing tools, perspectives, and ideas to take back to the ward or the office.

MECSPE

Positive change

We champion an industry that is conscious, more sustainable, and more connected. And we believe that technical information, too, must play its part in driving this change.
