Absolutely not.<br \/>\nYet we have achieved just that.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/X_BAS_pmhjw\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As the majority of you probably know the ISO standards, on a scale from 1 to 12 the lower the value assigned to a gear, the higher the accuracy of the workpiece (for AGMA standards, in fact, is true the exact opposite). This means that a DIN 5 grade gear is a very accurate workpiece and \u2013 more generally \u2013 a value of this type is obtained after grinding.<br \/>\nWe however set ourselves the goal of becoming more familiar with the skiving technology, so as to approach the grinding threshold as close as possible.<\/p>\n<p>But why specialise in skiving rather than grinding? To start with, because grinding is not a process that MICROingranaggi performs in-house and then, even if it did, it would cost much more. A grinding machine, in fact, is a rather expensive machine per se, and can only be used for that specific function.<br \/>\nThe gear hobbing machine we use for skiving, on the other hand, is a machine that we already have at our factory and it&#8217;s a vital piece of equipment as any gear must be toothed before the grinding phase.<\/p>\n<p>So, if just a couple of years ago i thought it impossible to achieve a DIN 5 quality grade in a batch of 100 pieces using skiving technology, today i find it impossible to do the same for a batch of 10,000 pieces.
